How do shifts in sound cause the viewer of a movie to focus on one specific segment of the clip? (i.e. tenser music causes viewer to focus on the gun pulled out by the person, rather than everything else happening around)

I start developing movie scenes in my mind when I listen to certain music. What methods can I take to better record my ideas while I'm listening to music?

How much does sound in an exhibit, like an audio tour, influnce/enhance the impact of what I am looking at?
